Michael Jaeger, chief creative officer of JDK Design in Burlington, VT., turned to Mane and Holly Alves with his vision of opening an industrial-chic, coffee-centric cafe called Maglianero. The cafe epitomizes what Jaeger calls a “modern mobility movement” celebrating the fitness benefits of cycling combined with the creative fuel of caffeine. The name Maglianero is Italian for black jersey, reminiscent of what European cyclists wear.
The cafe, steps from the Burlington bike path and Lake Champlain is in the basement of the JDK building, located at 47 maple Street, around back. Coffee is king here in this Queen City establishment. Single origin coffees sourced by Mane and slower brewing methods such as cafe solo and pour-over processes are featured.
The cafe plans to open Friday, May 27. Hours of operation: M-Th. 7-4; Fri. 7-7; Sat. & Sun. 8-4.
